Fordnutz Club History 2007

2007 was the 40th Anniversary of the Mercury Cougar and Fordnutz' 10th.
Member Leo Obstbaum designed a Fordnutz anniversary logo which was used for the newsletter banner and for club t-shirts. Scott Ferguson created a club calendar and there was a suggestion box at meetings.

The January meeting was postponed due to snow and power outages, but Don Wicklund and Connie McClinton escaped to Hawaii and got married.

February 17: Lorne Pirson and Kim Friesen are 2 of 31 "athletes" at the bowling fun night at Scottsdale Lanes in Surrey.

March 17: Model Car Mecca at Coyote Creek in Surrey

March: In appreciation for their contributions to the club, Scott Ferguson and Heather Whitaker were treated to a weekend stay at Harrison Hot Springs by club members.

April 15 Garage Tour: Burnaby's Wes Stinson has a small but impressive collection of classic and exotic cars. Prohibited by the city from building another garage on his property, Wes put French doors on one wall of the lower floor of his house and called it access to his patio. Problem solved.

April 28/29: Sheldon Potts' 68, Rob Waine's 67 and Scott Ferguson's 68 G at Tradex. The revolving sign made by Jim Ferguson and the plaster and cardboard "cake" made by Carla Bronevitch helped secure Fordnutz' 5th place win.

In May Heather Whitaker took over the club history project from Judi Kidner.
